Lately I've been wearing my hair out, usually in buns or twist-outs taken down the next morning. For those who are new to my hair journey, I've big chopped twice (2011 & 2016) with this time being my 2nd. My first experience was all captured on my youtube channel. Feel free to browse my journey!
However, this time, I feel I am much more aware of what my hair likes and it's own little do's & don't's. There are a few items that every natural must have and that my hair loves!
1. A good SHAMPOO
There is a such thing is having the right shampoo, especially for your hair type! Often times, it's worth buying that $15 bottle of shampoo. I found this brand (Camille Rose) in Target a little over a month ago. I had never heard of it so I thought I'd give it a go! I was so happy with the result of the shampoo I got the Hair Milk too! The best thing about this shampoo is that it's sulfate free & paraben free.
2. An excellent CONDITIONER
The conditioner Im currently using is Miss Jessie's Leave*In Condish. Although it is a leave in condish it is slightly thick in consistency, therefore I opt to use is as a regular conditioner and rinse after. My hair feels amazing after using this & when I have time I use it as a deep conditioner with heat!
3. A Creamy MOISTURIZER
I cannot stress how important it is to have a decent moisturizer. Theres nothing like brittle, dry strands that will result in "Bad Hair" It's also important to moisturize DAILY. Most of us have naturally dry hair so why not do ourselves a favor and keep our crowns healthy! Im using Camille Rose Hair Milk!
5. A sturdy and effective DETANGLING BRUSH & COMB
Ever since my Big Chop back in 2011 I've had the same Denman Brush. If this is your first time hearing about it, you've just been blessed by the hair gods. This brush can be used on every texture from 1a-4z! No lie! It's also very easy to clean & the bristles can be altered to your liking. Total Price depending on retailer, it can be found for as little as $7. As far as my comb, if it has a little flex to it with wide teeth, its good to go!
Either it's olive oil, shea butter or this! Carols Daughters Mimosa Hair Honey! It's hair pomade or hair grease lol. I've always been a fan of Carols Daughter products and as you can see I've dug all into this one haha!
